Once the link is clicked, the information is used to get access to your account. You receive a notification that money has been debited from your account.

UPI is one of those modes which has ‘push’ as well ‘pull’ function, which means not only can send the money but also ‘collect’ the money from other person. This collect facility is one of the most preferred modes of defrauding customers. If someone initiates a ‘Collect’ request, and you authorize the same, the funds from your account will go into the sender’s account. If one unknowingly ‘confirms’ such Collect request from a fraudster, the account will be debited immediately.
